Each month we explore a different database in an Australian state. This month we look at passenger lists in Queensland. The Communities, Housing and Digital Economy department of the Queensland Government have indexes for 28 datasets that relate to immigration and these include passengers lists.
Most of the indexes are in alphabetical order, however they can also be searched by passenger surname, first name, ship name, age, year etc. This gives many options for trying to find the person you are looking for.
The passenger lists and other datasets available are a wonderful tool for genealogists and record agents as they are searchable. To view the datasets available click here.
