Biography:
Family historian | Researcher | Writer | Editor | Interviewer | Champion of the importance of storytelling
With over 20 years research and writing experience, combined with relevant university study including a Diploma of Family History, my goal is to help families celebrate the stories that make them unique.
It’s the stories of our ancestors that draw me to family history research. The names, places and dates are the scaffolding, but it’s the detail of their lives (and our own!) that really fascinates me, so that’s what I aim to uncover in any research I do. I have a special interest in recording and transcribing oral history interviews to capture family stories.
I can locate records online or in person quickly and efficiently, and can also help you combine words and images into engaging narratives to honour your family’s stories. I’m able to visit Victorian archives, libraries or other record sources on your behalf.
I’m on the editorial team of the Genealogical Society of Victoria’s Ancestor journal and also a member of Writers Victoria and Oral History Victoria.
