Biography:
I started teaching 40 years ago. In the last 20 years have done relief primary teaching at over 100 schools in Melbourne. I have run my own small businesses including making children’s clothes to importing flooring. My interest in family history began very early in life due to having Scottish grandparents. A year’s travel overseas in 1984 included some research on my Scottish line. Finding a convict in the family 20 years ago, has led to my interest in convicts. I’ve visited Port Arthur twice.
I started studying a Diploma of Family History in 2020 which included two convict subjects. I will be completing the Diploma in July 2021. I have done extensive research for friends and family to find their ancestors and to create booklets for them, including copies of certificates, photos and family charts.
I’ve been a member and volunteer of the AIGS, used records from the Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) and the National Archives of Australia, Trove, the State Library of Victoria, the Australian War Memorial and ancestry.com.
