“If at first you don’t succeed then search, search again!”
With new records coming online or available through repositories all the time, the saying couldn’t be any truer! So, if you had a brick wall with Aunty Jane or thought Uncle Jack had taken his secrets to the grave, well, it doesn’t hurt to have another look every now and then. New records become available for a variety of reasons such as they have been digitized, dates that records were privatized have passed, someone has requested a file be assessed for suitability for viewing, volunteers or funding being made possible to complete any or all of the above requirements.

WWII military files are continuing to be scanned and made available online.

Trove have been scanning more New South Wales, South Australian and Victorian newspapers during August which will then become available online soon, see the list.

These are only a few of the records that are newly available or newly updated, however it shows us why it’s always a good idea to “re”-“search” areas where answers weren’t found in the past as you never know what may now be available.
